Descriptive Text About The Great Wall in China

The Great Wall of China is the longest building ever made by human. The Great Wall of China is considered as one of seven wonders in the world. In 1987, this building was listed in the world treasure site of UNESCO. This famous Great Wall was build during three dynasty periods, from Qin Dynasty, Han Dynasty, to Ming Dynasty. It took more than 2000 years to finish the Great Wall of China.

A comprehensive archaeological survey, using advanced technologies, has concluded that the great walls of china measure 5,500 miles. This is made up of 4000 mi sections of actual wall, 200 mi of trenches and 1,400 mi of natural defensive barriers such as hills and rivers. Another archaeological survey found that the entire wall with all of its branches measure out to be 13,000 miles. Today, The Great Wall of China is recognized as one of the most impressive architectural feats in history.

China’s terrain is largely flat, making the country extremely vulnerable to foreign invaders and looters. The Great Wall of China was built to protect China from its enemies and invaders from the North, especially the Mongols. The Mongols were a tribal group that would regularly conduct raids into China. Despite the wall, the Mongols eventually conquered China. The Wall also kept Chinese citizens from leaving China.

There are three important parts in The Great Wall of China, first is the fenghuotai tower, the gate and the gigantic wall. The fenghuotai  tower was used to deliver military message by making smoke signal in the afternoon and fire at night to inform the enemy movement. The gate is the door out of the border, as a place of exit troops while attacking the enemy.

The Gigantic Wall is a defensive wall with a maximum height aproxiamally 10 meters & depends on the shape of the terrain.  The function of Gigantic Wall is to connects the watchtower and the gate into a defensive line. In the Gigantic wall have included border controls, allowing to transport equipment along the Silk Road and the control of immigration. And there is some additional wall called as Luocheng is the second wall to give  a chance to attack quickly.
